Mrs. Clare L. Donnelly, 71, of 1022A N. 18th St., Manitowoc, died early Friday evening at home. She had a coronary attack. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Monday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Vernon Anderson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Clare Jonas was born Sept. 3, 1895 in the Town of Mishicot, daughter of the late Fred and Augusta Paarman Jonas. She was married in October of 1922 to James Panoch and the couple resided at Mishicot until his death in February of 1945. She was married to Richard Donnelly in August of 1950 and the couple lived at Sacramento, Calif. A year after his death in July of 1956, Mrs. Donnelly returned to Manitowoc to reside.
She was graduated from Mishicot High School and Manitowoc County Teachers College and taught in Manitowoc County Schools. Mrs. Donnelly was a member of Manitowoc Womans' Club, Park Lawn Auxiliary, the Circle of First Lutheran Church and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She had been secretary of the Alumni Assn. of Manitowoc County Teachers College.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Vining Ihlenfeld, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Harlan D. Swanberg of LaPuenta, Calif., two brothers, Harry Jonas of Minneapolis, Minn., and Fred Jonas of Winnetka, Ill., a sister, Miss Meta Jonas of Manitowoc and six grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 pm Sunday until 12:30 pm Monday when the casket will be moved to the church chapel.
