Adolf J. Haese, 86, formerly of 2225 Fairmont St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, March 30, at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Larry Ellenberger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Haese was born June 27, 1896, at Manitowoc, son of the late Albert H. and Wilhelmina Borgwardt Haese. He grew up in Manitowoc, attended First German Evangelical Lutheran School and was graduated from Manitowoc Central High School in 1914. He also attended Milwaukee Motor School. He married Viola I. Van Bramer Oct. 5, 1922, at Manitowoc. They were married by the Rev. Karl Machmiller. Mr. Haese had been employed as a custodian at the Dempsey building 40 years, retiring in January, 1969.

He was a charter member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and past president of the church council. Mr. Haese had been an associate member of Manitowoc Braille Club.

Survivors include his wife, Viola, two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Marge Haese of Milwaukee and Ronald and Arline Haese of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lillian and Richard Bero of Two Rivers and Carolyn and Ralph Feyersen of Manitowoc, 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Ziphora preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Thursday afternoon and at the church from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
