William R. Huske, age 66, of 1020 Magnolia Avenue, Manitowoc, died Friday,
March 30, 2001, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after an eight week
battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Faith
Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the service will be Intern Pastor Marcia
Solberg with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
William was born on December 21, 1934, in Manitowoc, son of the late Leon B. and
Blanche Singer Huske. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the
Class of 1953. On January 7, 1956, he married Ann Parworth, who preceded him in
death on October 3, 1983. On August 5, 1995, he married Mardell Ruh. Bill was
employed as the National Sales Manager of the Toy Division of Aluminum Specialty
Co., Manitowoc, and also as the Sales Manager of Monogram Models of Chicago, Ill.,
retiring in 1981. He was a volunteer at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center,
particularly in the chemical dependency unit and also a bell ringer for the
Salvation Army. Bill was also willing to give of his time to anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Mardell Ruh Huske, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-
in-law, Jeffrey (Diane) Huske, South Milwaukee, Michael (Karen) Huske, Manitowoc;
two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy (Jeff) Hasselmer, Maribel, Sue Huske,
Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Zachary Huske, Daniel and Maggie Hassemer; five
step grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Haselow, Peter Jay Woodkey, Dottie Woodkey,
and Jacob Ledvina; brother and sister-in-law, Leon (Dorothy) Huske, Rochester, Minn.;
two sisters, Eleanor Anderson, Denver, Colo., Rosemay Kahler, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice (Paul) Burkart, Dennis Ruh, Daniel (Carol)
Ruh, Darrell (Mary) Ruh, Terry (Debbie) Ruh, Joleen Thibodeau, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, John
Huske.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
on Monday, April 2, 2001, from 4-8 p.m. and also Tuesday morning at Faith Lutheran
Church, Valders, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
A memorial has been established in Bill's name.
