MRS. JIRIKOWIC DIES AT HOME THIS MORNING
Prominent Social And Fraternal Leader Leaves Nine Children
Taken ill five days ago and developing pneumonia, Mrs. Emil Jirikowic, mother
of nine children and prominent in social and fraternal work in the city, died
this morning at the family home, 1203 Grand Avenue.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Dora Wagner, was born in the town of Eaton
48 years ago and was married in this city 25 years ago last December to Emil
Jirikowic, since residing in this city. She was secretary of the G.U.G. Germania,
a member of the Women's Relief corps and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles.
She was also a member of the drill team of that organization.
Besides her husband she is survived by five daughters, Louise, Dorothy, Grace,
Elvi and Betty Jane, and four sons, Louis, Reinhardt, Ellsworth, and Edward.
Her mother, Mrs. Hannah Wagner of this city, six brothers, Edward, Louis,
William and Frank of this city, Carl of Pontiac, Mich., and Ernst of Green Bay
and three sisters, Mrs. John Ludwig, Elvi and Lydia of this city also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from the home and at 2
p.m. from the First Reformed church, Rev. Menke officiating. Interment will
be at Evergreen cemetery. The remains will be removed to the home Tuesday
morning where they may be viewed up to the hour of the funeral.
