Emil Jirikowic, 83, of 1203 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, died Thursday at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Reformed United
Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore Crusius will officiate and
burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Jirikowic was born Feb. 23, 1884, at Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph
and Louise Drumm Jirikowic. He attended local schools, worked for the Reiss
Coal Co. and for 51 years was employed as a malster by Rahr’s, retiring in
1954. He married Dora Wagner in 1907, and she died in 1932. He married Anna
Hruby in 1936 and she died in 1963. Mr. Jirikowic was a member of the First
Reformed Church and the Malsters Union 297.
Survivors include five daughters, Miss Louise Jirikowic, at home, Mrs.
Carl F. (Dorothy) Bul, Mrs. Norbert (Elvi) Huebner, Mrs. Harlan (Betty) Neff,
all of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Charles (Grace) Brockhausen of Peekskill, N.Y;
four sons, Louis and Edward of Manitowoc, Ellsworth of Two Rivers and Reinhard
of Owatonna, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Earl Dueno of Manitowoc, Mrs. Anna
Bahr of Chicago and Mrs. Julia Van Winkle of Los Angeles; two brothers, Frank
of Manitowoc and Reginald of Highland Park, Ill,; 25 grandchildren and 18
great grandchildren. Two daughters, four sisters and two brothers preceded
him in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, this Friday evening until
11 a.m. Saturday and at the church until time of service. Memorials may be
made to the church.
