PIONEER OF RAPIDS DIES AS HE SLEEPS
John Lorenz, pioneer resident of Manitowoc county, making his home with his son,
Herman Lorenz on the old homestead at Rapids, was found dead in his bed Sunday
morning, death being due to a heart attack following ill health of a month or more,
superinduced by advanced age. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at
1:30 from the home at Rapids.
Mr. Lorenz was born in Germany and would have been 78 next June 16. He came here
as a young man and engaged in farming and retired when age came on, his son
continuing the farm. Besides his wife, Mr. Lorenz is survived by five children,
Albert and Emil in Kossuth, Herman at Rapids, Mrs. Martha Sands and Mrs. Clara
Mandel, both of Two Rivers.
Mr. Lorenz was well known and held in esteem by all who knew him.
