Ethel Marie Bean, 90, Keyser (Cross), W.Va., died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born July 10, 1915, in New Creek, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Isaac Newton and Phoebe Ellen (Snyder) Ashby. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. 'Pete' Bean, on Jan. 24, 1981; five brothers, Malcolm, Henry, Charles, William, and Chester Bean; and three sisters, Minnie Shook, Mabel Broadwater, and Jessie Doman.
She was a member of the Cross United Methodist Church and was active in the Elk Garden PTA and Band Boosters Association.
Surviving are seven sons, Lloyd 'Eddie' Bean and Thomas Bean, both of Key-ser, Chester 'Bob' Bean, Cross, William 'Bill' Bean, Gormania, W.Va., Larry 'Jake' Bean, Swanton, Donald Keith Bean, Deer Park, and David Bean, Cross; five daughters, Ellen 'Sis' Lyons, Cross, Margaret Butler, Yellville, Ark., Eva Tasker, Cross, Linda Radcliffe, Burlington, W.Va., and Gail Haines, Keyser, W.Va.; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, where a service was held today, Thursday, Oct. 20, with Pastor Jack Tichinel and the Rev. Ann Harrison officiating.
Interment was in the Bean Family Cemetery, Cross.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
