SUDDEN DEATH
Of Mrs. Edward J. Meyer from stroke of Apoplexy.

Many friends were shocked and grieved yesterday evening when the news of the sudden death of Mrs. Edward J. Meyer spread over the city. For months Mrs. Meyer's physical condition has been alarming to her immediate relatives but the suddenness of her passing came as great shock to all. She suffered a stroke of apoplexy yesterday evening at her home on Main street and died at 5:30 without regaining consciousness.

Mrs. Agnes Givens Meyer was a daughter of Mrs. Anna Markley Givens and the late William Givens. She was born in Milton, Ky., and moved to Madison in her early girlhood with her parents. She received her education in the public schools of this city and has always made Madison her home. Twenty years ago she was married to Mr. Meyer, who, with her mother, survives.

Mrs. Meyer was a member of Trinity M.E. Church and she belonged to the Bethany Circle of the King's Daughters. Her home instincts were strong in the fevered world of disappointment and her affection for those she loved was tender and abiding. She possessed a sympathetic disposition and she was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need and her deeds of kindness will be missed by many. To the bereaved husband and mother the sympathy of numerous friends is extended.

Funeral services will be held at the residence at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and the interment will be in Springdale cemetery.
