Angeline Schneider, age 97, of Valley City, ND, formerly of Oriska, ND, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 20th at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Oriska, ND. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City and one hour before the services at the church Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the church in Oriska. Interment will be in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery, Oriska, ND in the spring. Angeline Katherine Thilmony, the daughter of Henry and Frances (Guck) Thilmony, was born July 23, 1913 on the family farm near Oriska, ND. She grew up in rural Oriska and attended Wagner Country School and later St. Catherines Catholic School in Valley City. Angeline worked on the family farm helping to do a lot of the cooking and baking. On April 16, 1934 she married Joe Schneider in Oriska, ND. The couple lived and farmed in the Kempton, ND area and later moved back south of Oriska. In 1953 the couple moved into Oriska where Angeline worked at the Oriska School as a cook for 12 years. Mr. Schneider passed away in 1997. Joe and Angie had been married for 63 years. Angeline was an active member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens group. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards traveling with family. In May 2000, Angeline became a resident of the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Angeline is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Steidl, Oriska, ND, Mari Jo (Mark) Sigl, Bismarck, ND and Donna Jean (Tom) Helms, Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, Jeff Steidl, Nome, ND, Brian Steidl, Fingal, ND, Jill (Darren) Halland, Tower City, ND, Holly Jo (Scott) Wolbaum, Dickinson, ND, Angela (Michael) Janson, Minneapolis, MN, Kelly (Brad) Steinke, Albertville, MN and Justin Bercier, Fargo, ND; 5 great-grandchildren, Josh and Austin Steidl, Claire and Carley Halland and Brenna Jo Wolbaum. Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
