Roger Hill Neslen, beloved and adored by all those who had known him passed away peacefully August 10, 2012 at the age of 65.

Roger was born April 8, 1947 in Salt Lake City to his loving parents Clarence C and Leone Rockwood Neslen. Roger was the third born of four children and is survived by his endeared siblings, Clarence (Nila) Cannon Neslen Jr. [Bud], Richard (Mickie) Rockwood Neslen (Dick), and Elizabeth (Russ) Neslen Jones (Betsy).

He was a cherished and treasured father of four children and five grandchildren whom he loved with all of his heart Jeffrey (Mihoko) Glen Neslen [Fubuki, Tsubasa, Akira], Jared (Ann) Porter Neslen [Ethan, Eli], James Rockwood Neslen, and Jillyn Leone Neslen.

During his life Roger was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was ordained as an Elder on March 27, 1966 and served as a missionary speaking Cantonese in the Southern Far East Mission (Hong Kong) from May 1966 to June 1967. He served the remainder of his Mission from June 1967 to November 1968 in the Philippines touching many lives in his dedication and service. He served as the 2nd Councilor in the Union 20th Ward, Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake under Bishop Lewis Swain.

Roger was a bleeding red University of Utah Athletics fan and for a time held season tickets as a supporter of the Utes football and Runnin' Utes basketball programs. He earned his Degree from the University in Marketing and was known by his iconic class graduating ring, which he wore for the majority of his life. While attending the University of Utah he served as Treasury for the LDS Student Association and Spiritual Vice President of the Delta Phi Kappa Fraternity.

Roger also came from a very strong military family and served his country in the Army Reserves for a time.

Roger will be missed and always remembered in the hearts of those he touched. The family will celebrate his life as a father, son, and brother on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 beginning with a viewing at 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple.
