Mrs. Barbara Constantine, 92 years and 4 months, widow of Jacob Constantine, passed away early Sunday morning, May 19, 1929 at her home southeast of Oswego. She was born in Wisdorf, Germany and came to this country with her parents in 1846. She was married in 1858 to Jacob Constantine and they went to Dwight where they lived on a farm for 15 years, then they came back to Oswego, buying the Judson farm where she has lived about 55 years. Mr. Constantine passed away Dec. 21, 1921. Three children were born to them, the oldest daughter, Mrs. Fred Haag, passed away in 1886. She leaves two children, a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Hem and a son, John Constantine, with whom she has made her home. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna Boessenecker and Mrs. Almira Faust of Aurora, and two brothers, Henry Hafenrichter of Oswego and Lawrence Hafenrichter of Yorkville. She was a member of the Prairie Evangelical Church for many years. According to her wish, a private service was held in the home Tuesday, May 21. Burial was in the family lot in the Oswego Prairie Cemetery.
