Franklin Irvin Brown
of Claysburg, formerly of Hopewell, died at 1:18 PM Friday, June 13, 1975 at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring after several days illness. He was born July 3, 1896 in Potter Creek, a son of Lorenzo and Nevada (Ditwiler) Brown, and on Jan 25,1929 married Margaret Jackson of Bedford County, who preceeded him in death Sept 30, 1973. Surviving are seven children Mrs Anna Harker, with whom he resided in Claysburg, Mrs Mae Doitch of Brookes Mills, James of Middletown, William of New Kennsington, Richard C. of Claysburg, Glenn C. of York, and Blair of Chambersburg; 27 grandchildren and one great grandchild; a sister Mrs Ethel Herring,and a brother Charles Utlery, both of Altoona, two half siters and a half brother, Mrs Georgia Kemp of Illinois, Mrs Vera Beck of Altoona, and Benjamin Brown of Duncansville. Mr Brown was a member of the Penn Wood Bible Church, Everett RD, and a retired farmer. Friends will be recieved in the Marvin C.Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg from 7-9 today, noon to 9 Sunday, and in the Penn Wood Church to time of services Monday.
