Mrs. Julia Mayhew, 94, died Sunday, January 30, at the Clare Nursing Home, following a lingering illness of six years.
A former resident of Gladwin County for 25 years, Mrs. Mayhew was born in Canada August 25, 1877. She was married to Lawrence Mayhew, who died in 1968.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Ransom of Clare; two grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lena Richard of Cambridge, Mass.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church, Clare, of which she was a member. Fr. John Hoogterp officiated and burial was in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Prayer service was Tuesday evening at 8:00, at Stephenson Doherty Funeral Home. Gladwin County Record dated 2-2/1972.
