In 1869 his parents moved to Coffee County, in Kansas. When but a boy nine years old they moved to Williams County, Ohio where he spent the remainder of his life.
On October 18, 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude May Barnes, of Kunkle, and on December 25th came to make their home in the house where they lived their entire married life. To this union seven children were born. Three daughters, Opal Fern, who died in early childhood, Mrs. Bernice Morris, who is living in Toledo and LaMoille of Kunkle. Four sons, Bruce of LaCarne, Ohio, Clifford of Kunkle, Ross of Evansport and Billy of Kunkle, all of whom were home at the time of his death.
Besides his immediate family, he leaves to mourn his departure two brothers, Alfred of Alvordton, Ohio and William of Winnebago, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends.
