Darrell L. Aldridge, 61, of Waycross died Thursday afternoon (August 16, 2012) at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Waycross after a lengthy illness. He was born in Brunswick, GA to the late Claude Allen Aldridge and Frances Aldridge and lived in Waycross all of his life. Mr. Aldridge was retired from Guy's Automotive. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Danny W. Aldridge, Tommy Aldridge and Ronnie Aldridge; two sisters, Wanda Aldridge and Donna Aldridge.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Betty Davis Aldridge of Waycross; three children, Tammy Sturges and her husband Tony of Waycross, Timmy Aldridge and his wife Elizabeth of Hoboken and Tabitha Vine and her husband Domenic of Blackshear; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Glenda Davis and her husband Buddy of Waycross; four brothers, Jerry Aldridge and his wife Carolyn of Waycross, Van Aldridge of Waycross, Earl Aldridge and his wife Carolyn of Blackshear and Billy Bell of Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
