Dr Harold Keaster Graves

Dr Harold Keaster Graves, died Oct 21, 1997 in Greenbrae, Calif. He was 86. Dr Graves served as pastor of two churches in Shelby County, Ky., before being called by First Baptist Church, Jeffersonville, Ind. He later served at the First Baptist churches of Chickasha and Bartlesville. He was president of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma from 1947-48, and an OBU trustee from 1947-51. In 1952, he was named president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, Calif., where he remained until his retirement in 1977. He then served as interim pastor of several churches. He also taught at the seminary, and was acting president of the seminary and California Baptist College, Riverside. Dr Graves is survived by his wife, Frieda Graves, a daughter Nancy McLaughlin; a son, Harold Keaster Graves, Jr; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
