Hazel M. Rennison

Hazel M. Rennison, 81, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of 1681 Elm St., died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at the care center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., with the Rev. Jerry Oakland officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rennison was employed at Aladdin Magicclean for 19 years, retiring in 1980. She also worked at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque for five years.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1924, in Potosi, Wis., daughter of Albert and Violet (Hartnett) Burrows. She married Burdette Rennison on Sept. 14, 1940, in Dubuque; he died on Dec. 19, 1994.

She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together.

She was a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy (Michael) Leppert, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Shirley Johll, of Dubuque; five sons, Edward (Claudine) Rennison, of Goffney, N.C., Harry (Verna) Rennison, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Jerry (Ann) Rennison and Richard (Kathy) Rennison, both of Dubuque, and Eldon (Mary) Rennison, of Bellevue, Iowa; a brother, Donald (Joyce) Burrows, of Dubuque; 27 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roger; two grandsons, Ronald and Robert; a great-grandson, Josiah; five sisters, Catherine Ernzen, Yvonne Duddeck, Lenice Burrows, Licille Mander and Jenny Timmerman; three brothers, Clyde, Harold and Clarence Burrows; and a son-in-law, David Johll.

The family requests no flowers. A Hazel Rennison Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Andrea Ries and her staff for the fine care they gave Hazel.
