ERNA A. EVENSON
Erna A. Evenson, age 85, formerly of 327 S. Liberty St., Valders, and currently a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, Jan. 30, 2005 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Erna was born Oct. 7, 1919 in the town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Otto and Friedea (Jentsch) Gruett.
On Nov. 6, 1943, she married Edwin Stanley Evenson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1961.
Erna was employed by the Leverenz Shoe Company, retiring in 1984. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Faith Lutheran Quilters.

In addition to her husband, Erna was preceded in death by her brother: Ervin; one sister: Adeline; six brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Richard Schroeder. Burial will be at Our Savior Cemetery, Valders. The family will greet relatives and friends Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church from 3:30 until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Valders, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Shady Lane Nursing Home and the nurses, doctors and Pastoral Care at Holy Family Medical Center for their care and compassion given to Erna.
