Cordova - Albert McCollum, 73, a retired truck driver, died Sunday in an Orangeburg hospital. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. McCollum was born in Springfield, a son of Willie R. McCollum and Laura Hoover McCollum. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the presidential unit citation. He was a member of the VFW and Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, E. 'Lib' Bunch McCollum; four daughters, Annette McCollum and June McCollum, both of Cordova, Patricia Dunsmoor of Spartanburg and Delores McCollum of Manning; three sons, Hank McCollum of Bowman, Regan McCollum of Orangeburg and Wade McCollum of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Minnie Carvella of Charleston; four brothers, Robert McCollum of Swansea, J.D. McCollum of Gardner, N.C., Marion McCollum of Aiken and Phillip McCollum of Branchville; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. © The Post and Courier, Charleston, SC, 3 Jun 1996
