Funeral services for Forrest Allen Goins, age 75 of Hebert, LA will be held 2:00PM Thursday from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Lane McClanahan and Rev. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Wednesday August 22, 2012 at the Bethany Baptist Church located at 1740 Highway 133, Hebert, LA from 5pm until 9pm, and again on Thursday from 9am until time of service. Forrest Allen Goins was born on August 12, 1937 at Singer,LA ; to the union of his parents Forrest Goins and Alberta Nelson Goins. He passed from this life on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, by two wives, Katherine Land Goins and Annie VaLois McClanahan Goins; two brothers, Vernon Goins and Jim Goins, and a nephew, Kenneth Poole. Forrest was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, a devoted member of the Columbia Chapter of the Masonic Lodge, and the Columbia Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. He retired as a Senior Tool Pusher with Reading & Bates Oil and Gas Exploration. Forrest was a devoted husband, loving father, caring brother, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. His family, who will forever cherish his memory, include his beloved wife Ruth Dannehl Goins of Hebert; five daughters, Darlene Reynolds and husband Roy of Hebert, Pam Phillips and husband Rick of Hebert, Debbie Cole and husband Burtman, of Oberlin, Trudi Babcock and husband Richard of China Grove, NC, and Tresa Walker of Hebert; two sons: Shane McClanahan and Tiffany of Slidell, and Dustin McClanahan of Columbia, LA. He is also survived by two brothers, Rodney Goins of DeQuincy, LA; and Brian Goins and wife Cecelia of Lumberton, Texas, and his sister Lucille Poole of Singer, LA. His grandchildren include, Stacy Reynolds, Candace Norris, Derrick Phillips, Kaci Maxey, Kari Briscoe, Derek Cole, Erica Herrin, Lauten Walsworth, Shelby Walker, Damian Walsworth, Jonathan McClanahan, Tiffany MCClanahan, Landon McClanahan, Natalie McClanahan, and Katelynn McClanahan, and nineteen grandchildren. Pallbearers include Stacy Reynolds, Derek Cole, Derrick Phillips, Lauten Walsworth, Jonathan McClanahan, and Joshua Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Beckley, Smitty Smith, and Harris Clark.
