No stone apparent in 2007. In 1915 "A slab that is 24 inches in height and 6 inches at the top in breadth and about 9 at the bottom, an ordinary piece of blue stone, rough and ragged, announces: W. V. Orden, Dyed 23 Oct. 1777" (Dear Old Greene County, pg 121)

William Van Orden, Catskill, born February 15, 1754, the oldest son of John Van Orden and [Catherine] Tryntje Du Bois. Joined the northern army, fought at Stillwater and Saratoga, was taken ill and died on his way home, October 23, 1777. (Beer's History of Greene County, pg 441)

He died at the home of Teunis Van Vechten - father in law of his sister Sarah and is buried behind their home.
