I was born at Hilda, Alberta, June 6, 1919 at the farm home, and received my education at Process School. My school attendance was limited, because of an illness that has plagued me since I was a child.
When I became of age, I quit school to help my father and brothers with the farm work. Working with horses was not my favorite chore, but I did enjoy working with the tractor and other machinery.
When my folks moved to town, I came with them. I continued to live at home with my mother, and help with the work around the house and take care of the garden.
