John was the son of Maria Arcangela "Mary" delVecchio and Fortunato Colosimo. He arrived to the United States with his family in 1923 at the age of 6. John married Cecilia Mary "Celia" Mielekion on August 30, 1941. John enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 12, 1943 and served during World War II until December 22, 1945. He died at Deaconess Hospital of Cleveland at the age of 72.
