Sister Kathleen was born September 30, 1916 in North Fond du Lac, WI, the sixth of seven children of Peter and Clare Murray Tenpenny. In 1931, coming from Presentation Parish in North Fond du Lac, Mary Susan Tenpenny entered the Congregation of Saint Agnes and was given the name Kathleen. She professed her vows on August 15, 1935.
Sister spent most of her years in ministry in the field of finance, serving in Monroe, WI, Hays, KS and in Fond du Lac, WI. Sister served as the Controller of St. Agnes Hospital from 1960 to 1980 and then served as the Assistant Accountant at St. Agnes Convent until she retired in 1985. Sister Kathleen continued to share her joy and wit as she volunteered at both the Motherhouse and the Senior Center until she retired to Nazareth Heights in 1994.
Sister Kathleen is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Tenpenny, of Tucson, AZ, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and the members of the Congregation of Saint Agnes with whom she lived and ministered.
Sister was preceded in death by her three brothers, Raymond, John (Jack), and Rev. Francis Tenpenny; and by her three sisters, Catherine and Inez Tenpenny and Helen Flood.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:15P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett St. in Fond du Lac. The Rev. Edward Sippel will be the presider. Burial will take place at 9:30A.M.on Friday, March 10, 2006 at St. Joseph Springs Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Visitation: Visitation will be held at Nazareth Court, 375 Gillett Street in Fond du Lac after 1:00PM on Thursday, March 9, 2006, with a prayer service at 4:00P.M.
