Mrs. Lucille Dawson Busey, 96, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 in a local hospital. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala. She was a homemaker and served as a "Pink Lady" volunteer at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Brewton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Travis Busey and a grandson, Travis Busey Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Travis Busey Sr. of Monroeville and Jack Busey Jr. of Montgomery; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton with Rev. Jack Fitts and Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jerry Caylor, Danny Joyner, Keith Miller, Gary Robinson, Bill Watson and Ralph Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Northcutt, Richard Moncrief, George Harrison, Terry Dixon, Fred Mitchell, Carol Nall, Richard Hesler and Luther Gillis.
