WESTVILLE - Cecil Cutler, 71, Westville, formerly of Chesterton, died Monday (Sept. 20, 1999) at his home.
The funeral is at 3 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Pastor Bill Babb officiating. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Cutler was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Gary to Hall and Mary Peggy Sommers Cutler. On March 16, 1957, in Porter County, he married Edna Luella Collins, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Terry (Verna) Kendall, Bagley, Wis., Jack (Sandy) Cutler, Santa Claus, Ind., Roger Carlson, Macon, Ga., and David Carlson, Greencastle, Ind.; five daughters, Judith Rich) McGee, Leiters Ford, Ind., Rhonda Sue (Bob) Barker, Michigan City, Bonnie (Bill) Rightsell, Chesterton, Rose (Roger) Larimore, Porter, and Linda (Fred) Eason, Chesterton; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (Barb) Cutler, Crown Point.
Preceding him in death were a son, Charles Berrier; two daughters, Marie Carlson and Mary Lou Poskie, and two brothers, Hall and Robert Cutler.
Mr. Cutler, an area resident since 1957, was a machinist instructor at U.S. Steel Gary Works. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was a former member of the First Christian Church of Chesterton and a former member of Chesterton American Legion Post 170.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers, Michigan City, or to the Alzheimers Association at St. Anthony Memorial.
