The following obituary appeared in the Beckley Post-Herald on Thursday, May 19, 1960:

Ray Farley
Ray Farley, 57 of Charleston died at a hospital there at 1pm yesterday. Surviving are his wife, Helen Fortune Farley and one daughter, Mrs. Allan Hamrick, both of Charleston. Also surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Alvis McLaughlin of Jumping Branch, Mrs. H.F.Dobbins of White Oak, Mrs. Ada Adkins and Mrs. Lucy Bennet of Abraham, Mrs. Etta Pack of Cincinnati and Mrs. Fred Crawford of Hinton. Two brothers, D.C. Farley of Hinton and O.L. Farley of Abraham also survive.
