Agatha immigrated in 1844 with her sister Elizabetha (age 11 born Feb. 14, 1833) and sister Anna Maria Schmid Frey (Anna's husband Christian Frey, who was a blacksmith and their infant daughter Anna Maria Frey). She also had a brother Johann George who was born Dec. 16, 1815 and had immigrated in about 1840 and also lived in Washtenaw County.

Agatha gave birth to 10 children only 5 living to adulthood. Six of the children were born in Scio Tonship between 1845 and 1833-

Anna Marie born on Aug 17,1846 in Scio Township, MI died young

Johannes (John) born on Jan 11, 1851 in Freedom Township, MI. died young.

and another unnamed child.

It is unclear if Johannes lived long enough to make the trip to Sebewaing with Elizabeth, Friedrich, and their mother. The other three who lived to adulthood, all born in Sebewaing were Lydia (born Aug 2, 1855), George (born April 26, 1859) and John Peter, called John (born Aug 2, 1861.John Peter's grandson recalls hearing that a child who died before there was a cemetery was buried in the orchard behind the barn.

Agatha & her husband J Peter Schairer were 1st cousins.

Cause of death: After a long illness Agatha died of cancer and consumption
