Hartland Township, Pierce County, WI∼Hugh had an oat beard that had entered into his ear, apparently while harvesting, this became infected and caused his death. He was age 20. Hugh is buried in the Hartland Presbyterian Church cemetery in Hartland township which is located about six miles east of Ellsworth, Pierce county, Wisconsin. He is buried in plot number 28 which is the only grave in the two Gamble plots that is marked with a gravestone
