Mrs. Anna Dennis, daughter of William and Marguerite Kinrade, was born in Princeville, Ill. January 1, 1863. She departed this life at Omaha May 5, 1951, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 25 days. Death came after an extended illness, bringing to a close the career of one of Fillmore County’s pioneers.

Coming west in a covered wagon when Mrs. Dennis was a child, the family settled in Fillmore County, Nebraska. She married Hezekiah Dennis August 28, 1887. They went immediately to Rock County, Nebraska, homesteading land that is still in the possession of the estate. Mr. Dennis passed away in 1909, leaving the little family in the efficient care of the mother.

The four daughters are Mrs. Eleanor Dairs of Omaha, Mrs. Porter Burt of Bassett, Mrs. Lee May of Council Bluffs, Ia., and Mrs. Roy Peterson, also of Council Bluffs. Seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews remain.

After the death of her husband, Mrs. Dennis and Eleanor lived in Geneva a number of years. They moved to Omaha about 25 years ago.

Funeral services were conducted in Omaha at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8th, with graveside services in Geneva at 3:30 p.m. Rev. William G. Bohi officiating. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the family lot.
