Age 81 of Laurel, passed away peacefully at her daughters home, Jane Wilson in Laurel under the care of Seasons Hospice. She is the daughter of the late Charles Travis and Lillian Warburton. Doris worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Genesis Nursing Home, and was a school bus driver for over 37 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, and was an avid bowler in Laurel, Seaford, and Millsboro. Doris also enjoyed their two dogs Snoopy and Bubbles.
Doris will be remembered for being a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Paul S. Barron, Jr.; sons, Walter Lacurts and his wife, Jean, Paul Lacurts and his wife, Sylvia, and Danny Lacurts; daughters, Jane Wilson and her husband, Ed, and Wanda Harding and her husband, Barry; sisters, Dot Dulis and Ruth Nice;
grandchildren, Gary Brittingham, Dale and Diane Lacurts, Sherry, Audrey, Keith, Brandon Lacurts, Dan and Kelly Harding, and Ashley Lacurts. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West Street in Laurel, Delaware on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Roland Tice will officiate. Interment will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery Laurel.
