Justus Roe was the founder of Patchogue, NY and the owner of the Union Twine Mill, which he purchased from Frederick Odell in 1816, and Roe's Hotel.
He erected Patchogue's first hotel in 1808 on West Main Street. In 1820, he built a new hotel on the northeast corner of Main Street and Ocean Avenue. His son, Austin, built the much larger Eagle hotel on East Main Street in 1852 and enlarged in 1892.

Gravesite Details
There was no visible stone for this grave. There is, however, a large stone base next to that of his wife where a monument used to be.
