Funeral services for Mrs. Martha E. Burhans, 78, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the James Burhans home and at 2 o'clock in the Milton M. E. church. Burial will be in Milton cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Charles Gilbert, Alex Andreski, Ted Olson, James, Edwin and Elmer Burhans.
Martha E. Craig, daughter of Samuel and Sarah Craig, was born Aug. 19, 1859, in Milton. On Jan. 4, 1874, she married James W. Burhans who died on Aug.4, 1918.
Mrs. Burhans died early Wednesday morning at the home of her son James after an illness of seven weeks during which her niece, Mrs. Stella Wright, took care of her and eased her sufferings as much as possible.
Surviving are three sons, James of Lima, Charles of Milton, and William of Forth Atkinson; also 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ada White of Milton, and two brothers, John Craig of Janesville and Henry Craig of Ashtabula, Ohio.
