Ira worked for the Railroad most of his life; Burlington RR as a Towerman and GB&QRR as a Flagman. He married Luretta Alice Lutz on 04/29/1874 in Plymouth Illinois. They had four children:
James William , Oscar Elan, Huber Deronda and a baby that died within the first year of birth (name unknown).
Loretta passed away in 1918 from pneumonia and IRa in 1924 from heart disease. Both Ira and Luretta are buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
