Mr. Emerson "Junior" Abbott, age 72 of Shady Grove Road, Carrollton died Saturday, September 1, 2012.

Mr. Abbott was born in Gadsden, Alabama on November 23, 1939, the son of the late Emerson Abbott, Sr. and Louise Abbott Miller.

He served in the U.S. Army, was retired from General Motors and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Carrollton.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and Gary Wyrick of Temple, Debra Abbott of Bremen, Tammy Gentry of Bremen, Cheryl Fuller; grandsons, Joshua and Naomi Hack, Chip Fuller; six great grandchildren; sister, Edith Watson of Mt. Zion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Lurlie Abbott of Bowdon, Tommy and Laurene Abbott of Cave Springs, Jimmy Abbott of Rome, Dennis Miller of Bowdon, Dale Miller of Rome and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Bishop Abbott; daughter, Steffanie Abbott; grandson, David Hack and brother, Robert Abbott.

Pallbearers will be Mike Abbott, Mac Abbott, Jake Abbott, Seth Allgood, Ricky Watson and Wallace Hancock.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
