Betts, Lodell Passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Louin, MS on August 27, 1934. Retired from Salem Village Nursing Home after 10 years of service. Lodell accepted Christ at an early age at Hopewell M.B. Church in Sylvarena, MS. She was a faithful and supportive member of Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she was active in the Beautifiers Ministry. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Ed Betts, Jr., one son, Steven A. Betts, her parents, William and Olevia (King) Williamson, and sisters, Glozeddie Williamson and Williamenia (Johnnie) Wright. Left to cherish her sweet memory are her son Frederick (Tamara) Betts of Lee's Summit, MO; her "sweetheart" grandchildren, Brandon and Cassaundra Betts; sisters, Idell Pierce of Chicago, IL, Dorris Steele of Chicago, IL, Annie Ruth Griffen of Toledo, OH, Charlene (Frank) Bates of Shorewood, IL, Joyce (Freddie Lee) Roberson of Louin, MS; special sisters-in-law, Annie M. (Andrew) Betts of Joliet, and Jettie Taylor of Jefferson City, MO; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and special niece, Lisa (Preston) Hicks of Battle Creek, MI. Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday, December 23, 2011 10a.m. to 11a.m. at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1502 E. Mills Rd, Joliet, IL.
