Cooper, Tommye "Maude" Age 88, made her transition into eternity on Monday, October 31, 2011. She was born to James and Tommye Sanders in Goodman, Mississippi on January 31, 1923. She moved to Joliet in the early 1940's and worked for the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant. She later worked as a seamstress for Hart, Schaffner & Marx. In the late 60's, she became the owner of Sea King restaurant. Maude was proceeded in death by her parents, one daughter, Betty Sims and one grand daughter, Sheila Mitchell. She leaves to celebrate her memory, her daughters, Rosie Evans and Joyce (Joseph) Travis, both of Joliet; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. Visitation: Thursday, November 10th 5-7 p.m. at Minor-Morris Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday. Funeral service: Friday 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church located at 1710 Carey Street Joliet; Pastor Angelo Hill-officiating. The interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery.
