Pietro Bombassaro, son of Angelo Bombassaro and Giovanna Susin was born on 13 Oct 1874 in Fonzaso, Belluno, Veneto, Italy. Pietro married Catterina Lira on 24 May 1900 in Fonzaso. He immigrated to the US in 1905. Catterina joined him the following year. The couple settled in Upper St. Clair, PA. They had eight children; five sons, Angelo, Abramo, John, Louis, Joseph and Peter Bombassaro and two daughters, Ann Bombassaro Balach and Mary Bombassaro Tuttle. Peter died in 1942.
