SLOCUM Clara Slocum Ingalls

Wellsboro - Clara Slocum Ingalls, age 88, formerly of Baker Street in Corning, died Friday, July 24, 1998 at the Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. Clara was born in Osceola, PA. the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ella Odle Slocum. She married Lester Ingalls on April 30, 1933 in Wellsboro, and was preceded in death by him in 1992. She was a graduate of Wellsboro High School and Elmira Business Institute. She was a member of North Baptist Church where she had been Treasurer and Pianist. Clara was also a member of the King's Daughters and Sons for many years.

Clara was preceded in death by her son, Joel Ingalls, brother; Raymond Slocum, sisters June Hall, Abbie Slocum, Enola Satkowski and Cora Cass. Her survivors include her daughters; sons; 3 brothers; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday, July 27, 1998, from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home Inc., 17 W. Pulteney St. Corning, where funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Earl L. Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Mansfield.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the North Baptist Church, 127 Sly Avenue, Corning, NY 14830.
