In Loving Memory Of Dolores Perez March 5, 1907 - June 29, 2005 Mom, it's been a year since you've been gone & you are greatly missed! She came from Aguasclientes, Mexico. At the age of 13 she migrated to Ontario, CA. She met her husband, Joaquin Perez in Rodeo, CA, & married him there not too long after they met. From there they moved to Pittsburg, CA, for a short time. Then moved to Port Chicago for 12 years. After the 1944 Naval base explosion they moved to Martinez where they lived the rest of their lives. Dolores was the mother of 13 children: Esther, Rollo, Jake, Tony, Tom, Ray, Dolores, Margaret, Manual, Henry, Poncho, Sal, and Sarah. She was the Grandmother of 51 children, great grandmother of 99 & great great grandmother of 11. She also had 5 brothers; Lupe, Ben, Sal, Al, and Louie, and 4 sisters; Esther, Gracie, Teresa, & Katie. She was a member of St. Catherine's of Siena Church & the Guadalupe Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, & cooking. She also enjoyed her flower garden. We remember the many happy events; picnics, birthday celebrations, first communions, Christmas & Easter were all special times. One of the three of the younger brothers remembers times when each of them would bring about three friends each home from school and mom would have a big stack of tortillas made & they would all devour them in a matter of minutes. Mom would just continue making tortillas & wouldn't say a word. She loved to cook for her family. Another one of the brothers remembers that mom's life & joy was her home & family. Her life was in the home making sure everything was in order, spending many hours in the kitchen. He enjoyed helping mom at times make the tortillas. Our mom was reunited with our dad on June 29, 2005 at the age of 98. We were blessed to have you in our lives for so many years. Four generations were able to know you. Mom, you are greatly missed and loved by us all!
