From the Black River Falls Badger State Banner:

--Died, at her home in Hardscrabble, Tuesday, the 20th, of dropsy and old age, Mrs. Elizabeth Langston, in her 90th year. Mrs. Langston was born in England on the 10th of Sept., 1799. Her name then was Thorneycroft. At twelve years old she joined the Methodist church, and always remained in that faith. After her marriage to Mr. Langston she moved with him to Nova Scotia, and from there, thirty-five years after, to the home from which she has lately departed. Twelve children were born to her, and three of the sons served in the war of the rebellion, one dying in camp. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Langston lived with a married son here, the back pay and pension she received from the government making her independent in her old age. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Pryse, and the remains interred in the cemetery.
