Mrs. Emma R. Corbett widow of Julius, S. Corbett and one of Binghamton's most prominent civic and charitable workers, died today at her home. 103 Oak street. She was 92 years old. Born in Rochester March 29th 1839. Mrs. Corbett was a daughter of late Rachel C. and the Rev. John M. Grimes. She was married to the late Mr. Corbett in 1858 and came to Binghamton in 1855. Since that time she had lived in
Binghamton and been active in all phases of civic and charitable endeavor. For more than 25 years she was-president of the Board of the Home for Aged Women. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Monday Afternoon club. She attended the First Congregational church. Surviving Mrs. Corbett are a son. Merritt J. Corbett of New York city: a daughter. Mrs. Melvin C. Craver of Binghamton: six grandchildren, George C. Craver. Escanaha Mich.; Merritt Stuart, Mrs. George A. Reynolds and Mrs. Robert E. Harris of Binghamton: Mrs. John T Bowen, Clearwater, Fla., and J. Leonard Stuart of Corbett, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
