Magdalena Schuplinsky Dec. 3, 1924 - Oct. 13, 2004 Born in Germany, Magdalena passed away in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wsewolod Eugenievich Schuplinsky who passed away in May, 1990. She is survived by daughter Tamara Schuplinsky, sons Ivan Schuplinsky and Peter Schuplinsky, daughter-in-laws Wendy and Janice, grandchildren Monicia Toombs, Patrick Toombs and Anna Schuplinsky, Melissa Schuplinsky, great grandchildren Douglas Pratt and Lyle Toombs. Magdalena had survived many trials of life. She spent her young adult life fighting Nazi, Germany, by being part of the German Underground. Her part in that cause earned her four years as a prisoner of the Nazi's. Magdalena met Wsewolod in a prisoner of war camp towards the end of the war. They were both liberated by the Allied Forces, and were married shortly after. Wsewolod and Magdalena were sent back to Siberia for four more years of hard labor, a reward for Wsewolod from the Russian Government for being captured by the Nazi's. They instead lived under a false name and defected to America. Through their hard work and endless love for their family, they were able to give their children the opportunity to live the American dream. Their departure has left a hole in our hearts.
