Leatha Longhurst Tingey passed away peacefully of cause incident to age on July 13, 2012, in Orem, Utah at the
home of her daughter and son-in Law, Karen and McKay Sleight. She was born in Shelley, Idaho May 21, 1922, the fourth child of George Heber and Elizabeth Pritchard Chadwick Longhurst. Her parents died from the results of a fire when she was 14. The children were taken into the home of Uncle Wallace and Aunt Claress Jamison where they were loved and cared for as their own.

She married Keith L. Tingey in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 26, 1948 at which time she moved to his ranch in Grays Lake, Idaho. There they raised three daughters: Peggy (Russell) Capson, Shauna (Thomas) Humpherys, and Karen (McKay)Sleight. She worked along side her husband in the work of running a ranch. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many different capacities. In addition to being an excellent homemaker, she could always be found helping anyone in need in their small community.

Keith passed away November 27, 1987. In 1989 she sold the ranch and moved to Orem, Utah where she could be nearer her daughters. She lived there until November of last year when her health declined and she moved to the home of McKay and Karen where they lovingly cared for her. Survivors include her daughters and sons'-in law, 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grand children, 2 great-great grandsons; brothers Leonard (Gwen) Longhurst, Clinton (Colleen) Longhurst, Merlyn (Jean) Longhurst; sisters Clarice (Harold) Hansen and Beth (Mardell) Oakey.
