She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of Hazel Greathouse of Spencer and the late Howard Greathouse. She was a homemaker and member of Edgelawn United Methodist Church, and had attended Rayon United Methodist Church and Eagle Pointe as a resident.
Surviving in addition to her mother are three sons, Tom, Bill and James Byrd, all of Parkersburg; two grandsons; four brothers, Pete and John Greathouse of Cleveland, Ohio, Bud Greathouse of Fairmont and Jim Greathouse of Spencer; and two sisters, Pauline Matheny of Arnoldsburg and Marion Greathouse of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Byrd, Mar. 11, 1989, and one brother, Gene Greathouse.
Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg, with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg.
