From that time, he made seven other productions, amongst these, '06,' winner of the Special Prize from the Jury and the Prize from the Critics at the Film Festival in Holland in 1994 and selection of the 20th São Paulo International Film Festival. One of his most recent productions dealt with violence against women in Islamic societies and prompted many death threats. He was shot and stabbed to death while cycling on an Amsterdam street by a man with Moroccan nationality, Moh. B., who is in prison with a life sentence
