Mrs. Ella Mix Dies Thursday; Funeral Tuesday
A resident of Terraville, Mrs. Ella Lucy Mix, died in a Belle Fourche hospital Thursday morning after an illness of several years. She was entered as a patient Tuesday.
She was born to John and Grace Harper Sept. 17, 1899 in Lead and attended Lead schools there.
Her marriage to Robert Mix took place in Deadwood Dec. 12, 1917.
Following their marriage they lived in Wyoming and Montana and since 1929 had made their home in Terraville.
Mix preceded his wife in death Sept. 7, 1962.
Survivors are three sons, Ray and Harley, Terraville; Robert Jr., Houston, Tex., five daughters, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Kinney, Terraville; Mrs. William (Arlene) Burke, Ekalaka, Mont.; Sp. 5 WAC Lorna Mix, Ft. Devens, Mass.; Mrs. James (Hazel) Trimmer, Brookings, Ore.; Nellie Mix, Garfield Heights, Ohio.; three brothers, William Harper, Spokane, Washington; Alfred Harper, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Russell Harper, Shingle Springs, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Mix, Trojan; Mrs. Emma Mix, Cody, Wyo.; and Mrs. Dora Howell, Ladore, Idaho; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday in the Wells Funeral Home chapel, Deadwood, with Rev. Vernon Morrisn, First Methodist Church, Lead, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Terraville Methodist Church by the family in memory of Mrs. Robert Mix, who died Thursday at Belle Fourche.
Marvin Mix, Garfield Heights, Ohio, a son, was omitted from the list of survivors in the original obituary given to this paper.
