Born in Mahoning County, OH, Noah and his wife Sally Ann Paulin Frankforter emigrated from Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County, OH to Nebraska on 1-13-1871 after a dangerous crossing of the ice-packed Missouri River. After living with his sister Eliza "Aunt Lide" and her husband William Henry Hartz, they applied to homestead at Possum Hill Corner in Saline County NE thanks to a loan from Noah's brother, David.

Noah farmed, had an apple cider press, and was the first person in Nebraska to grow peaches. He loved trees of all kinds, such as pines and sour cherries. They lived all year on the corn, cabbages, squash and canned fruit put away each years. Sally bore 9 children, but only 5 lived to adulthood.

Noah's homestead can be found in section 13 of the plat map. They retired to Tobias Ne.
