Florence Evelyn Legg, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, following a short illness.
Born April 12, 1918, in Jenkey, she was the daughter of the late Omar Hypes and Maude Nutter Hypes.
Mrs. Legg was a lifelong resident of Hico, a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church of Hico and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin S. "Johnny Legg," Aug. 20, 1984; and three sons, Curtis Melvin Legg, Roger Legg and Marshall Legg.
Survivors include four daughters, Kay Frances Cameron of Salem, Ohio, Brenda Joyce Legg of Yuma, Ariz., Rebecca Ann Dufour of Ansted and Debbie Gray of Hico; five sons, Michael Allen Legg of Hico, Jerry Lee Legg of Hico, Donald Legg of Hico, Ronald Legg of Hico and Billy Dean Legg of Hico; two sisters, Phala Beddow of Medford, Ore., and Virginia Skaggs of Ansted; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with the Rev. Bill Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in Legg Cemetery, Hico.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
