Charles Edwards, age 78, of Island City, Owsley Co., Ky., passed away Friday, 20 May 2011 at the Kindred Hospital, Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY. He was born 28 Oct. 1932 Owsley Co., Ky. He was a member of the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. He was proceeded in death by his parents Luther & Lucy (Becknell) Edwards, & the following brother Clarence Edwards & sisters: Sylvia Pennington, Velma Gunter, & Mattie Byrd. Charled Edwards is survived by his wife Bonnie (Clem) Edwards & the following children: Tresa Sparks, Sue Frye, Brenda Wilson & Donald Wayne Edwards, also surviving are 12 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren, one sister Callie Metcalf of Sextons Creek, Ky., & the following brothers; Clifton (DeEtta) Edwards, of Owsley Co., Ky., Fred (Linda) Edwards, Edd (Barbara) Edwards of Manchester, Ky. He is also survived by lots of nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, 22 May 2011 at the Clark's Chapel Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Charles Edwards were held 1:00 P.M., Monday, 23 May 2011 at the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church with Frank Cunnigan & Ralph Hacker officiating, burial followed at the Clem Cemetery, Sexton Creek, Owsley Co., Ky. Britton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
